Enjoying the Challenge of Crossfit Events

The challenge of Crossfit

Many people enjoy participating in the various fun runs that are hosted in major cities and towns. However, many of those participants are not serious about their fitness and only go in them for fun. While those who are serious about their fitness and enjoy the challenge of competing against others, or the clock, also join in fun runs – they also look for other kinds of competitions such as the Reebok Crossfit Games.

Even though it started on 16 March with The Open, which goes for five weeks, there are many other competitions such as the Pacific Regional Event from the 22-24 May, while other games and competitions are planned for other months in different centres. People who qualify are eligible to compete in the 2015 Reebok Crossfit Games held in July 21-26.

Who can Participate in Crossfit Games?

Anyone who is into fitness in a serious way can enter the Games; however, it is a good idea to have at least some Crossfit training so that you will understand how to do the various challenges, of which there are many different types. There are events planned for novices or beginners, so don’t worry that you will have to go up against those who have had a lot more training than you have.

You will also need the advice of your coach as to which events would be suitable for you so that you don’t suffer an injury. Therefore, people who have recently joined a Crossfit gym will be the most likely to participate.

There are also games and events scheduled for those who are at the Intermediate level or higher. Such athletes will have had much more training and experience and be able to take on challenges that the novice could not.

What to Wear

The clothing that is worn by participants can really make a difference to their performance. Clothing that is designed to breathe, is stretchy so that it moves comfortably with body movements and that helps to prevent strains and injury will ensure that each participant is able to give of their very best.

One thing you don’t want is to find that clothing is restrictive or chafes the skin. Not only will it cause pain, but it will also take your focus off doing your best.

Each different type of event may require different clothing, and your coach, or our team here at Stomp Fitness Apparel, can advise you if you are a beginner.
