Selecting Great Yoga Clothes

Stomp Apparel Yoga Gear

While many fitness trends have come and gone over the years, yoga has remained a permanent fixture on the group fitness timetable. The ancient Indian practice focuses on breathing, balance, and muscle control to deliver participants a challenging yet calming workout experience.

There is a huge range of different styles of yoga available, with the most popular being Bikram, Ashtanga, and pre-natal classes. In addition to these popular styles, there are many more, each of which differ significantly in their particular focus. There are many yoga teachers in Geelong, who offer classed in fitness studios, community halls, and gyms. In addition, some classes are also available in the great outdoors, taking advantage of Geelong’s many beautiful parks and gardens.

When taking a yoga class it is important to wear the right workout clothes, however with the variety of choices available, knowing what to buy can be challenging, especially for beginners. To make selecting the perfect yoga clothes easier, consider:

Choose clothes that breathe

When taking a yoga class you are likely to get a little hot and sweaty, particularly if it is a class such as Bikram that takes place in a heated studio. For this reason it is important to purchase clothes that breathe, so when shopping around look for clothes specifically designed for athletic activities and those that feature moisture eliminating technologies. This will help you stay cool and comfortable, allowing you to focus on your class.

Synthetic materials versus cotton

If you choose to workout in normal cotton clothing you will quickly find that once you have built up a sweat you clothes will stick to your body. This feels horrible and is not the best look in a yoga class. For this reason it is important to purchase purpose-made yoga clothes that will help you to stay fresh and cool.

Sizing and Comfort

Remember that not all products have consistent sizing, so it’s always a good idea to try on your clothes and assess their comfort prior to making your purchase.

When trying on yoga clothes make sure that they are neither too loose nor tight, and that you have a comfortable fit. Clothes that are too tight will restrict your movement during class and those that are too loose could also be a hindrance. Take the time to try on a variety of styles – we have a great range here at Stomp Apparel – so that you can find the perfect yoga clothes for your needs.

If buying online, make sure that you can return the items if they don’t fit well – that they have a satisfaction guarantee. At Stomp Apparel, we do!

Comments

Your not really jipumng or bouncing around with yoga. Wear loose, comfortable clothes. I wear sweat shorts and a halter, but my breasts are small too. I see no issue with a sports bra.Hope you like yoga. It’s not for everyone. (i hate it, but still go because it helps with Gymnastics). Only once have I been in a class with a man in it. Not common.
